BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St James’ Square, Newport

Motto reads: "Thou by the dial’s shady stealth must know time’s thievish progress to eternity. (Shakespeare’s Sonnett LXXVII) Reported in Oct 1997 that it was stolen/removed in July 1997. Believed to have been a memorial to General Montgomery.
