BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Amusement Park, Blackgang Chine

A large walk-on dial at the entrance to the park. The gnomon has ’Take your time at Blackgang Chine’, and is supported by a concrete pirate holding a barrel of rum, reflecting the smuggling that took place there. No hour lines or numerals, just the connon. The dial was reported in 1994 to have been seemingly adjusted for BST and longitude, but this level of detail seems now to be lost!
