BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The dial is in the herb garden of the College Physic Garden mounted on a plinth 108 high. It has an 8-point compass rose and an EOT scale, and is engraved ’Watkins, Charing Cross, London’. It shows 4am to 8pm in Roman numerals, and is divided to 30, 15, 10, 5 and 2 minutes and also, very unusually, to single and even half minutes.
