BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

A war memorial dial of the 1914-18 war. The motto reads ’Suns Hours’ and the pedestal is inscribed ’War is a disease which patriots can cure’, and ’Given by US Soldiers 1914’. A strange thing, also wrongly oriented.
