BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Nectan’s Chapel, Lostwithiel

This simple slate dial on the porch shows 7am to 5pm with no divisions. The Arabic numerals and the motto ’Vt Hora Sic Vita’ (As an Hour, so is Life) are neatly carved. The iron gnomon was broken in 1994 but was intact when Burge photographed it in 1999. The dial had been cleaned and a new gnomon installed by 2021. The chapel was restored in 1825 and the dial may have been placed there then.
