BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Hugh’s Church, Quethiock

This dial is sited on the south transept and canted westward. For once, the vicar has managed to get his name on the dial ahead of the churchwarden in the decorative upper part of the dial. The date 1764 is below that and at the bottom is the gloomy motto ’So soon passeth it away’, which is a paraphrase of Psalm XC v10. The most remarkable feature of the dial itself is that it displays another example of the "anticlockwise convention" (Cf Lansallos).
