BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cornwall

This is an old dial which was restored as a memorial and the inscription reads: ’This ancient sundial is restored in loving memory of Howard Spring’. It shows the hours from 4am to 8pm divided down to 5 minute intervals. There is an Equation of Time scale with indications of Watch Faster/Slower and an eight point compass rose in the centre. Spring’s most famous novel is probably ’Fame is the Spur’. In the churchyard there is the tallest cross in Cornwall.
