BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

Motto reads: "Hora Fugit". Attractive engraved sunface. Open fretted gnomon, low angle (approx 42 º), loose, and fitted 180º out of correct orientation. IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, from outside, with noon gap. Half, quarter and eighth hour marks in the outer edge of the chapter ring. Inscribed ’1716’ to S of gnomon toe position.
