BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (N)

The dial, now overshadowed by trees, is inscribed directly into the top of the pedestal, a circular stone 90 deep. Hour lines remain, and vestiges of Roman hour numerals, read from the outside. The gnomon is a modern replacement, with ’HUBBERHOLME CHURCH’ across the base of the west side. An inscription on the plinth refers to restoration by Langstroths of the USA as a memorial to the Langstroths of Langstrothdale. The church is notable for its rood loft, one of only two surviving in Yorkshire, and for the choir stalls and pews by Thompson of Klburn (the Mouse carver). It is the resting place of J B Priestly.
