BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Shropshire

The dial is in the middle of a large grassed area of the churchyard to the north of the church, mounted on a pedestal 1500h. It shows 4am to 8pm in Arabic numerals, read from inside, divided to one minute intervals. Across the bottom edge of the gnomon where it joins the dial plate is inscribed ’Gnomon July 1974 W.H.L.’, though dial itself is much older. The gnomon is rivetted to the dial plate with an ’L’ section strip along each side of the base.
