BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Ham Playground, Sidmouth

In the children’s playground is set out an analemmatic dial 3.6 metres across made by P.G.Mills. It has a short North- South pathway marked with the months of the year. In order to use it, the observer needs to stand on the pathway as close to the current date as possible when his shadow will indicate the time among the slate hour markers which have Arabic numerals. It has an Equation of Time table with an explanation of its use and the dial is corrected for longitude. It dates from 1994.
