BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is carved into the stonework over the south door. The motto is largely illegible now, but is given by Gatty as: "A day may ruin thee / Improve this hour / A.D. MDCCXXXII". The dial shows 6am to 6pm in hours, using Roman numerals with XII and IIII. 6am to 8am use the ’reverse convention’, so for example 6am is shonn as ’IV’, but there has been confusion in restorations of 7am and 8am. There are no hour lines radiating from the gnomon.
