BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Zoological Gardens, Camden

Known as the ’Globe Sundial II’. Fins are arranged every 15 degrees around a sphere tilted at the site’s latitude, with Roman hour numerals arranged on two rows. The time is indicated by the fin which casts the least shadow. The dial is mounted on a circular brick plinth with an explanatory plaque: ’Globe Sundial 1989 by Wendy Taylor CBE, the gift of Alcan Aluminium Limited’. The dial was ’nudged by an elephant’ early in its life, and re-installed 180 degrees out of alignment. Wendy Taylor is now (2016) aware.
