BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Dorset

The dial is below the bay window of the SSE facing rooms. The mottoes read: "C’est l’heure de bien faire" and below the gnomon "Le temps passe, l’amitie reste". The twelve zodiac signs are sculpted in detail, six down each side. The report mentions declination lines on the dial face but these can not be seen in the photographs, nor is a nodus visible on the gnomon. Ref: Mrs Gatty, 1900, p223 & 314. This account does not mention the declination lines.
