BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Declining west, located on a Grade 2 listed farmhouse - opposite the Waldegrave Arms.
The motto: SIC TRANSIT GLORIA MUNDI is inscribed along the top edge, with ’John Derry Fecit’ in large ornate flourished capital initials and black Gothic lower case. There are 11 declination curves corresponding to zodiac dates and half zodiac dates, some badly delineated, and with no labels. Inconsistent endings, intruding into the supposed hour line border in places. There are also azimuth lines corresponding to every 11.25°, but not labelled. Hour numerals aligned to where the hour lines would be, VII - XII - IIII - VI, but in fact no hour lines or divisions.
