BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Churchyard, Donhead St Mary

Maker J Bexon(?) - middle letter difficult to read. Inscr on gravestone reads: ’In loving memory of William George Hopkinson Cooke, 1928-1981’. Roman numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from outside, with noon gap, in 1 min marks with fleurs de lys half hour markers. Set on carved square section stone pedestal on two-tier square base. (Also a Mass Dial on LH corner of S porch archway.)
