BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

To see a dial such as this in good condition is indeed welcome. Its age and maker are unknown. In the sundial world it is called a multi cube, this has three faces, some have four but of course a north face receives sunlight briefly only in the summer. None of the hour lines have numerals so you will have to work out the time yourself, but to help, the south dial, that’s at the front has the hour, half and quarters marked, and the other two faces have only hours and halves marked. But of course all the faces are then usable in British summer. This dial could be called a market cros dial, there is a very similar one but in very poor condition at Acton in Cheshire.
