BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Sundial Cottage, Christchurch

The painted wooden dial is above the front door of the cottage. The upright Roman numerals run from 6am to 4pm and allow for the summertime additional hour. Half hours are indicated by small marks in the gap between the double lines making the border. The rod gnomon has a scroll support. The motto: TEMPUS FUIT EST ET ERIT [Time was, is and shall be]
