BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The dial is between the wicket gate and the south door. It is a 3 face cube dial. East face shows 4am to 10am in hours and in Arabic numerals, South face shows 6am to 6pm in half hours (dashes) and in Roman numerals, West face shows 2pm to 8pm in hours and in Arabic Nos. Noon may have been marked by a cross on the South face. All figures ’8’ are flat topped. Each gnomon ends in a pointed finger. Plinth bears a lengthy tract now largely eroded. It may read: "[S] At Noon day will I pray; [E} Jesu sun of righteousness/do thou on our darkness/ [shine?]; [N] - - - night there; [W] at evening time it shall/be light" 8ft high pillar slightly out of vertical, South dial faces 20degs E of S.
