BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (N)

The dial, mounted on an unusual shaped wooden column which is carved at top, is located to the right of the south door. Hours are IIII - XII - IIII -VIII, read from the outside, with a noon gap. A double outer time ring is divided to 15 and 5 minutes, with an inner 15 minute ring. The hours band is terminated with scrolls at effectively 3 am and 9 pm; between these scrolls ’G Adams London’ is inscribed in cursive script. Within the time ring is a large compass rose labelled to NE etc with decorative pointers.
