BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Staffordshire

A simple dial now missing its gnomon, with a date 165x (possibly 1652). The furniture is difficult to read but there is a smiling sun face around the gnomon root, and Roman numerals for 4am to 8pm, read from the inside, and divided to 30, 15 and 7.5 mnutes. The dial is screwed into lead fixings on the top of a circular sectioned plinth with a flared top which may be a replacement. The plinth stands on a two-stepped circular base.
