BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Matthew’s Parish Church, Langford

Saxon dial as part of a carving on the south side of the tower. We can see two figures holding aloft a semicircular sundial. It has no obvious markings but the gnomon hole is prominent. Originally there would have been a horizontal gnomon sticking out. References: The Book of Sundials, Eden & Lloyd, 1900 p72. Henslow ’Ye Sundial Booke’, Foyle Ltd, London, 1935, p78
