BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Shrewton

The dial is not easy to see, set in the south wall of the tower about 30 feet up. No lines or numerals are visible to the naked eye but through binoculars one can just see pock marks and scribe lines. It was probably a painted dial. There is a row of header bricks over the top of the dial - odd as the church is mostly stone and flint. The gnomon is probably iron and was painted grey in 1994.
