BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

West Dean College, West Dean

Upright numerals VII - XII - III with no subdivisions. Declination lines marked on the hour lines by blue porcelain diamonds for the winter solstice and by light red porcelain hemispheres for the summer. Across the top ’E J F 1990’. All carving is gilded. The gnomon is incised with the monogram ’EJF’ and has a nodus. The dial is signed along the bottom edge ’Sally Hersh 1990’. There is an explanatory plaque nearby with EoT graph etc
