BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Gilling Castle, Helmsley

A vertical west declining stained glass dial with mottoes in elaborate scrolls hard to decipher on either side of the dial proper. The hour lines are extended rays from a golden central sun. The whole is surmounted by two cherubs. Shows 4am to 2pm in half hours. The earliest known stained glass sundial in Britain.
