BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Peter’s Parish Church, Merton

The dial is in a south window to the east of the south porch, though it is designed for an east-facing window. It is not known where it was originally positioned or exactly when it was moved, but the window is said to have been reglazed in 1879. The motto reads: "Dum Loquimur / Fugit Hora". Arabic and Roman numerals. Spider & Fly motif rebus, with the fly all painted on the inside - sometimes the wings and legs were on opposite sides of the glass to improve the illusion of reality. Shows 4am to 11am in half and quarter hours by chequered scale. Half hours also marked by dots between numerals. Three pairs of small circles on either side of the hour scale are clear glass areas, not holes for a gnomon support.
