BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Oxfordshire

The dial is mounted on the inside of a staircase window as a suncatcher. A figure of Christ holds an orb, and the motto reads: ’Sum Vera Lux’ [I am the true light]. The dial shows 6am to 6pm in 30 and 15 mins It was given to the College free of charge by the maker after a big contract. Ref: C Daniel, Clocks, 10,10, p30,1988.
