BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The inscription across the top of the dial reads: ’Built 1758, burnt 1773, rebuilt 1774’, and on the supporting ledge below is : ’The buildings from Chiswell Street to the Hop Loft with / Vaults and Brewer’s house re-erected 1867 W.& Co.’ (the building was formerly occupied by the Whitbread Brewery). Across the toe of the gnomon is the motto: ’Such is Life’. The pedimented dial plate shows 6am to 6pm in half and quarter hours, using XII and IIII, with a noon gap, with gold numerals and lines on stone. The numerals are aligned vertically except for 10 and 11am, and 1 and 2pm, which are aligned with the hour lines. The surface mounted gold gnomon has an ’S’ supporter.
