BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Shropshire

One of the best preserved multiple dials in Britain, in situ or close to its original site. Fletcher Moss, "Pilgrimages to old homes", 2,1903. S side has a winter equatorial, a polar dial and a vertical with ’DEUS MIHI/LUX’. E & W sides have a scaphe dial low on the pillar. N side a polar dial and a summer equatorial. Pillar N face: figure of a man in late 16th century costume, ’VThO/RA SIC/VITA’ and carving of horse’s head. W face: plant below the scaphe dial, interlocking serpents surmounted by horse’s head, date ’1595’ and rosette to top. S face: owl sitting in tree with floriated cross above; torso of skeleton with ’FVI:VT.ES:ERIS / VT:SVM’ in raised lettering below. E face: armorial shield with three lions rampant, griffin and shield with 2 birds and horse’s head to top. Photo (a) original site, (b & c) current site.
