Inscr reads: "Telford 1978" The numeral 9 is missing. Blue painted sheet and square tube steel, The sundial depicts a cartoon-style dinosaur/dragon which supports the gnomon. The base is circular with lines running from the base of the bar to the Roman numerals placed around the dial. Shows IIII - XII - VIII (PMSA says 3am to 8pm) The numerals are upright, some raised upon plinths (both VI, the IX and the III). No noon gap but the time is, unusually, longitude-compensated. It is thought that the sundial was intended to commemorate ten years since Telford was founded in 1968. ’TELFORD 1978’ in raised letters (some missing by Aug 2005) down the style edge.
