BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Blenheim Palace (1), Woodstock

In the Italian garden to the east of the palace is a circular bronze horizontal dial of 1710 made by John Rowley of London. It is 500mm in diameter and the dial plate is 11mm thick. It shows the hours IV - VIII divided into halves, quarters and periods of 10, 7 1/2, 5 and 1 minute. There are 15 moon age rings so that the dial can be used as a moon-dial. In addition there are tables of epact and golden numbers for the calculation of Easter, a perpetual calendar, a coat of arms and the maker’s name. The dial is said to be one of an original set of four.
