BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Castle, Castletown

The dial is on a very sturdy pebble dashed cylindrical pillar at the front of the Castle. There are 12 faces with minimal markings. Gnomons generally correct though one is askew and one is wrong. Now rather shaded by trees. Surmounted by a ball finial. Date rumoured to be 1720 but the dial is shown in a picture (itself dated 1774) atop a market cross. Known locally as the Babby House or the Horse! The dial was restored prior to 2015.
