BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Savoy Hotel, Westminster

The dial is dedicated to the memory of Richard D’Oyly Carte, and is to be found in the garden on the river side of the hotel. It is a four-ring armillary sphere with a rod gnomon and ball nodus. It shows 5am to 7pm in half hours, with black infilled numerals on stainless steel. The inscriptions include: ’For excellence we strive’, ’Every Season has its Cheer / Life is lovely all the Year’, and ’Savoy Centenary 1989’.
