BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Village Green, Maughold

The dial is very small (reported as ’2 or 3 inches’), under a wire mesh protective cover, and mounted on a colossal stone plinth. Is this the original dial in the reference below? See Ref: The sundial was erected in 1666 to the memory of Captain Edward Christian, sometime Governor of the island, by his son. It bears the inscription "Ev [Evan or Euan] Christian fecit, 1666.
