BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Wrest Park [EH] (1), Silsoe

This double horizontal dial has now (2024) been returned to its original home at Wrest Park, where an electrotype replica is also in position (see SRN 5169). Prior to this, it was held for some time at English Heritage, Fortress House, 23 Savile Row, Westminster. Planispheric projection, Separate hour rings for 16 places incl Lat/Long, Comp points and bearings/Azimuth. Lunar scales, altitude scales, and RA of principal stars, Calendrical tables. Coat of Arms and Coronet. Floral Design. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 10, 5 and (in Arabic tens), I min marks. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals read from inside the dial. Noon gap.
