BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary the Virgin Church, Ninfield

The dial is mounted above the entrance to the south porch. It is carved on wood, with raised inscriptions, and has a sturdy wooden surround with ogee section edges. Upright numerals VI - XII - IV - V, with short lines for hours, and half and quarter hour markers, and dots for eighth-hour divisions. The solid iron bar gnomon, with scrolled support strut and circular ornamentation to the lower edge, appears to be cracking the wood. This dial replaces a 1735 original, according to the Church visitors guide.
