BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Dorset

The dial is high on the east turret. The motto reads: "Quid de Nocte?". Dial repainted every four years for 22 years to date of record (1993). Dial is painted white with black numerals. Letter ’Q’ of motto styled to balance the query at the end. This is Thomas Hardy’s House - can be viewed by appointment only. Further info filed with Report 1788.
