BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Petroc’s Church, Padstow

It is the unusual shape of this dial which attracts attention as it sits canted on the church porch. As Mrs Crowley noted, it looks as though it would be more at home in Egypt. Because of its odd shape it can only accommodate the hours from VIII (engraved as VII) until IV and its timekeeping properties are marred by the fact that its gnomon can be seen to wave in the breeze.
