BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Heale House, Middle Woodford

The dial is located on the west terrace between fish ponds, near to the house. It is an outstanding dial for a country maker, using the format of Rowley and Thomas Wright. The dial plate is let into the top surface of an ornate bulbous, circular section, fluted pedestal, with signs of an attempt to prise it off. It has a 32-point compass rose, labelled at 16 points (NNE etc). It has a double ring of place names with XII for local noons. Hour numerals are IIII - XII - VIII, read from the outside, divided to minutes (numbered at 10s), and to half and eighth hours. At the south is a CoA with motto ’PRETIOSUM QUOD VTILE’, and at the north is ’THO. EAYRE, Kettering Fecit’. See also SRN 1084 at Fulbourne, Cambridgeshire.
