BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial House, Sturminster Newton

The dial, which is canted to face south, is inset in the front stone wall and is protected by stone ledge. It may possibly replace an earlier dial. Gnomon recently (1999) painted black. 11am is marked ’IX’ and Noon by a cross. Shows 6am to 6pm in hours. Lower corners of dial plate are decorated with a ’flourish’.
