BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Abbey Church, Sherborne

The dial on the south-east end of the church was erected in 1745 by Sherborne School at a cost of £5.5s.0d. It was built by the Sherborne mason Benjamin Bastard (c.1698-1772), son of Thomas Bastard of Blandford Forum. The dial is painted on the gable end of the chapel behind the choir, with black painted lines on the stone coloured stucco. It shows hours 6am to 5pm in 5 min intervals, with lozenge tipped half hour markers.
