Kingston Lacy [NT] (1), Wimborne Minster

Kingston Lacy is a National Trust property and there is an admission charge, except for NT members. Opening hours are published on the internet. The armillary sphere, on a cylindrical stone column, is in a rose garden surrounded by yew hedges near the front of the house.. The dial, apart from the scale is painted gold. The hours are numbered with upright Roman numerals. The time is indicated by the shadow of the rod which forms the axis of the dial. If visiting be sure to look for the other sundial, which has a separate entry (SRN 2999).
