BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Dorset

Motto reads: "L’heure passe, l’amite reste". In grounds of Old Grammar School. Dial moved here in 1984. Modern cast dial, black enamelled ground to numerals etc in relief. Shows 4am to 8pm in Hours. False date of 1805. Small hour line markers. Gnomon root does not coincide with horizon line, no noon gap. Gnomon angle 52 degs. Set on cast pedestal 3805h with capital 900 square and concrete flagstone base.
