BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

This simple sundial, with the dial face, gnomon and pedestal, is constructed from one block of stone. It is a polar dial working on the same principles as the common horizontal garden dial, here the shadow does not move round the dial, but is a straight line moving from one side to the opposite side over the day. It is erected to the memory of Andrew Somerville, a founder of The British Sundial Society, and its first Chairman. Andrew also sang in The Bollington Festival Choir who rehearse in the Arts Centre. The dial was designed by Chris Daniel, a later Chairman of the society.
