BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Hornel Museum (1) [NTFS], Kirkcudbright

Cycloidal (nearly heart) shaped dial on square slate plate. Gnomon aligned diagonally. Two hole fixing. Engraving is universally thin. Shows 5am to 7pm in 30, 15 and 5 mins. Three time scales. Outer marks hours, then numeral chapter ring then 5min, quarters and halves. No half hour décor on lines. Split noon. Uses IV for 4pm, read from the inside. Décor in North/South corners appear to be compass related. That on East/West to be floral. Dial inset into square stone capital with square-section shaped pedestal mounted slightly skew on square block plinth.
