BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Hornel Museum (5) [NTFS], Kirkcudbright

The dial stands on the lawn of the museum, inset into the square capital of a square section pedestal with short baluster and lower square base. The motto reads: "Fugit irreparabile / tempus". There is a 32-point compass rose. The time ring is inside chapter ring, showing 3am to 8pm in half and quarter hours, using Roman numerals with IIII and with a split noon. The date MDXXXII is in the chapter ring gap, followed by a large ’AD’ and preceded by other characters, unreadable. The iron gnomon is rusting.
