BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Church of the Ascension., Birmingham

On a pilaster on the South wall is a painted wooden vertical South dial which shows the hours VI - VI divided into halves and quarters. A cross marks noon. Across the top is the name Joseph Peter and there is a sunburst round the root of the gnomon. Below this is the date 1766. White painted face with gilded inscription and incised lines in a frame measuring 520mm square.
