BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (N)

The circular dial plate (probably 1980) fitted to recess on top surface of the pedestal is near to the porch. Gnomon missing. Aligned numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, from inside, with noon gap. Short internal hour lines and quarter hour marks in the outer ring. Pedestal a square sectioned stone pillar, chamfered to octagonal for its upper half. The lower half decorated with sunken cross-work, and having initials on the east ’1667 / I . K / R . B’; south ’I . B / WS’; west ’R . W / R . C / ???’. All on a circular base formed by a stone brick wall topped with six(?) flat stone sector plates joined by metal staples. Small plate at the foot of the south side of the pillar has ’Restored 1980 / in memory of / Harold Popay / Churchwarden / (1974 - 1979)’.
