BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Strathclyde Region

The dial is mounted on an upturned stone hemisphere and circular column about 1100 high. It is a ball dial marked with hour lines on the top half only, above the band of Arabic numerals. Below these is a scale giving quarter hours. It is engraved with the date and the initials ’J R’. Ref: W B Sevenson, Trans Glas Arch Soc, ix,1937
