BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Lothian Region

This is an octagonal block with sloped top and bottom and eight flat vertical surfaces with no traces of gnomons or lines; but the owner remembers that it was a dial. On the sloping surfaces angel heads are faintly distinguishable. Ref: A R Somerville, Proc Soc Antiq Scot, 117, 1987, "The Ancient Sundials of Scotland", p 37 (C10).
